Purchase of existing art works

If you’re interested in purchasing an existing art work, please email me at mb@prbnz.com with information on the piece you’d like to purchase and your contact details (including your address). If the piece doesn’t have a quoted price, I will come back to you with the price and options for collection or shipping. I am based in Kapiti Coast, New Zealand – so if you live locally, you can collect your purchase from my studio. Otherwise, I can ship nationally and internationally.

Please note that I require full payment for the art work prior to collection or shipping. When collection or shipping arrangements have been agreed, I will email you an invoice and payment details.

Prints

I am able to offer prints for most of my existing pieces (even if they are sold, I usually retain photographs). If you’re interested in purchasing a print, please follow the same steps as indicated above. As a general guide, prints are priced between $200 and $400. Please note, because I don’t hold prints in stock, each one is ordered individually. As such, I require full payment for any print (including shipping) prior to me ordering the print.

Can I choose the size and framing of my print?

Yes, you can choose the size and framing for your print. When you email me about ordering a print, I will provide information on the available size and frame options.

Commissions

I am able to do commissions (special requests) in both Scratchboard and oil paint mediums. Commissions are often ordered as gifts or to capture special people, animals and memories. I would be delighted to discuss your ideas and requests.

How do I order a commission?

If you’re interested in ordering a commission, please email me at mb@prbnz.com with a description of the type of art work you’re looking for; any supporting photographs or images; and your contact details. I will then come back to you to discuss your requirements in more detail, costs and timelines. Be aware, that given the intricacy and detail involved in Scratchboarding, a commission can take up to 8 weeks to complete.

How much will a commission cost?

The price of a commission will vary according to your chosen medium, the size of the art work, whether or not you elect to have it framed (and the chosen frame) and the complexity of the subject matter. As a general guide, Scratchboard commissions are priced between $800 and $1200 (excluding shipping costs). And oil painting are priced between $600 and $1,300 (excluding shipping costs). Commissions are more expensive than existing pieces as I am taking creative direction from you and will liaise with you during the commission process.

Will I have to pay a deposit when I order a commission?

Generally, no. I don’t usually ask for a deposit for commissions. This is because I want to ensure you’re happy with the finished product before committing to a purchase. If you are happy with the finished product, then I will require full payment before collection/shipping the piece.

Returns and replacements policy

Each of my original art works are bespoke and require a significant investment in time and materials. As such, I do not offer returns or refunds. The only circumstance I will consider a refund or replacement is if the art work is damaged during shipping. If this occurs, please email me within 2 days of receiving the art work and provide photos of the damage. I will come back to you with options.

Shipping

I am based in Kapiti Coast, New Zealand, so all art works sent from this location. I am able to send within New Zealand and internationally. The cost of shopping will depend on the size/weight of the art work and your location. If you purchase an art work from me and require it to be shipped to you, I will contact you with an estimate of shipping costs. As a general guide, national shipping (non-rural) will cost approximately $50. Shipping is more expensive than the typical parcel due to the size of the art works and the requirement for special protective packaging.
